I believe that everyone has a right to safe, high-quality, person-centered health care. I am passionate about health system innovation and driven by policy impact. My background in engineering and plastic surgery continuously inspire me to think outside the box and collaborate across disciplines to implement creative technology-based solutions to improve care delivery. I am grateful and humbled by the opportunity to improve the lives of my patients though clinical surgery and health policy research.

Plastic Surgery has a long history and culture of healthcare innovation. In our clinical care for patients we creatively apply surgical principles to restore, reconstruct, and improve the human body. We treat patients of all ages with a myriad of reconstructive problems and coordinate with healthcare specialists in every clinical setting to provide unique patient-centered treatment solutions. Every day, I am humbled and inspired by my patients and colleagues. Their courage and commitment continuously motivate my involvement in health policy research.
Health services/policy research is a multidisciplinary field that studies how social factors, financing systems, organizational structures, technology, and personal behaviors affect access to health care, quality and cost of health care, and patient outcomes. As a surgeon-scientist in this area, I am honored to expand upon the experiences of my patients in high-impact health policy research, and leverage my research background to improve systems of care for the patients I treat.
